The Scabies Mite bite is often confused with a bed bug bite and can turn into red welts your upper body (shoulders, face, neck and arms). After about 10-12 hours the itch mite bites turn into what look like pimples and become very itchy lasting up to 14 days; whatever you do, DO NOT itch them!
Bed bug bites can be singles, in lines, or pairs or whatever. You simply can't diagnose bed bugs from a skin reaction. You need visual evidence (fecal stains, bed bugs, eggs, cast skins). If you have bed bugs now, then each bed bug is going to feed about every 5 days or so, and each time they feed, they will defecate.
Bedrooms are the principal location for bed bugs, so you need to start searching for the tiny bugs in the bedrooms first. Also, search any other places where people sleep, like your sofa set.
Flea bites can look very similar to the bites from bed bugs since they also occur in groups and itch a lot but the bite marks of fleas are typically smaller and more pinkish in color. Common household flea bites also tend to occur mostly on the lower part of the body around the legs, ankles and behind the knees.
Nope, bed bug bites won't make you sick (unless, of course, the bites get infected). And while bedbugs do feed on blood, they don't spread AIDS or other blood-borne illnesses. In other words, if you're bitten by bed bugs, the only things you need to worry about are not scratching the bites until they bleed and finding a way to control the itching.
This is a dirty blood sucking bed bug . As we knew two of the villas were unoccupied we quickly got up and went to reception to request a room change. There was no one around. A little strange given that it was 10:45pm, but we figured maybe they were just using the bathroom and would be back soon. An hour went by and there was still no staff on site! Meanwhile blood sucking bed bugs were getting hungrier by the second - and I was frickin tired!
